Rain moves in Thursday, big time cool down Friday.

Remaining Ad Time Ad - 00:00

TONIGHT:
Clouds build and temperatures stay mild tonight as a southeast wind at 5-15mph continues to keep us mild. A low pressure system in Kansas is funneling in the clouds. There’s a 30% chance of some showers and even a chance of some thunder within the showers tonight. Morning lows are in the low to mid 50s. Some locations up the North Shore will see upper 40s.

THURSDAY:
The low pressure system moves into northern Iowa and Southern Minnesota by Thursday afternoon. Expect some showers in the morning, but the bulk of the moisture to arrive in the evening (70% chance) from the west moving east. Before the rain gets here we still have a southern to eastern component to the wind at 10-15mph, which means temperatures are still rather mild. Highs are in the upper 50s to low 60s in Minnesota and mid to upper 60s in NW Wisconsin and the U.P.

FRIDAY:
The low moves into Northern Minnesota overnight and brings an 80% chance of rain with morning temperatures in the upper 50s. Friday our temperatures actually drop throughout the day as a high powered cold front sweeps through the region. Expect upper 30s by around 7pm. There’s a dry slot within the low which means it is bringing in dry air from the south. This gives us a break from the rain into the afternoon and evening.

SATURDAY:
Overnight into Saturday our temperatures bottom out in the low 30s. There’s a 50% chance of light snow as wrap-around moisture pushes into the region. Some snow will accumulate on grassy surfaces and decks. Expect on and off snow and rain showers throughout the day Saturday. The low pressure system continues to sit over the region. Southern flow will bring a chance of lake effect snow showers for the North Shore, especially in the higher terrain, look for higher totals of around 2-4” there. Accumulations will be around a half inch to 2” and will pack down and become slushy. High temperatures are in the upper 30s.

SUNDAY:
Temperatures drop to 32 into Sunday morning with a 40% chance of snow showers in the morning and a 40% chance of rain and snow showers by the afternoon. High temps will be in the upper 30s to low 40s with cloudy skies.

MONDAY:
The low FINALLY starts to move out of the region Monday. We still have plenty of cloud coverage and just a 20% chance of some showers. Morning lows are in the low 30s and highs are in the low 40s.
