A trough in the jet stream will push east and out of the region. After it is gone our skies will clear up and we’ll see some breezy winds out of the southwest at 10-15mph. The wind will help keep the atmosphere mixed so our temperatures don’t drop so much. Expect near 20 for most of the Northland. Aitkin, Ironwood and places lakeside will be in the mid 20s.
Here comes a ridge! It brings warm temps with it for Friday. Skies are sunny as the air will sink over the northland causing the sunny and dry weather. Winds continue out of the WSW at 5-10mph. High temps are in the mid to upper 30s with some places like Ironwood, Two Harbors, Silver Bay, Ashland, and Mercer near 40.
The southwest flow continues and continues to bring warm air from the southwest on Saturday. Lows are in the low 20s and highs reach to near 40. Skies are sunny with the nice big ridge sitting over the Great Lake States.
Sunday a small trough aloft and a cold front at the surface pushes closer to the region. This brings a few more clouds, but skies are still mostly sunny because of the lack of moisture. Lows are near 27 and highs are in the mid 30s.
Monday the cooler air is in place so our lows are in the upper teens. Highs reach the upper 20s, still above average, but much cooler than the weekend.
Tuesday some more warm air pushes in from the southwest as a small wave in the jet stream pushes east into the region. Lows are down to 18 and highs reach the low to mid 30s.
