DULUTH, MN – There is mixed reaction when it comes to how people imagine Canal Park.

1,200 residents, visitors and businesses were surveyed as part of the Imagine Canal Park pop-up experiments over the past year.

Among key categories, 62 percent surveyed did not like the public gathering space on Buchanan Street.

They said the street is a valued shortcut in Canal Park.

77 percent said they didn’t like the Lake Avenue lane changes because it took away parking spots and worsened conditions for walkers and bikers.

People did provide positive feedback for the Cold Front February event and Canal Park way-finding signs.
