#3 UMD stays put on USCHO poll, Anderson & Cates honored by NCHC

DULUTH,MN – The UMD men’s hockey team continues to stay steady in the latest USCHO polls. For the third straight week, the team comes in at number 3.

UMD (21-9-2,14-7-1) swept Miami Ohio in a pair of high scoring games.

Sophomore Mikey Anderson was named the NCHC Defensive Player of the Week. Anderson finished his weekend with four assists, four blocked shots and 3 shots on goal.

Freshman Noah Cates was named Rookie of the Week. Cates notched his first career multi-goal game. The Stillwater,MN native finished with two goals, an assist and 5 shots on goal.

#3 UMD will face #1 St. Cloud State on Friday at 7:37P.M.
