DULUTH, MN — What used to be one of the best Bulldog men’s hockey rivalries on their schedule, is officially being renewed this weekend in Madison.

UMD rarely sees old WCHA opponent Wisconsin anymore, until the two scheduled an early season meeting this season. With the Bulldogs ranked 3rd in the country, and the Badgers ranked 17th, the matchup will mean a lot to both sides, regardless of old rivalries.

“Defensively, the team we played last weekend is a much stingier team defensively so hopefully we can try and find areas we can expose them defensively but we’re going to have our work cut out for us offensively,” said head coach Scott Sandelin.

“They’re a much more talented team, high-end talent. They can put the puck in the net so we’re going to be challenged offensively but hopefully offensively we’ll generate a little bit more because a little different style defensively.”

The two game series can be seen live on FOX Sport Wisconsin/North. Puck drop for Friday and Saturday is set for 7:00 p.m. at the Kohl Center.
