DULUTH, Minn – Monday, August 19 was day one on the job for new St. Scholastica athletic director Franco Bari.
He spent the last seven years as an assistant athletic director in upstate New York, before finding his way back to Minnesota. Bari was born in Minneapolis, before moving to Rochester, NY where he grew up.
“I’ve had a chance to speak with several student athletes, and get a better understanding of their perspective, and it just seems like a really really positive environment. The student athlete experience is really important to me,” said Bari.
Before getting involved with athletics administration, Bari was a student-athlete and coach himself.
“I’m very excited to be here. I’m very excited to build the relationship with the student athletes and the coaches and the rest of the community. And I’m grateful for the opportunity they’ve provided me. I’m really looking forward to embracing Duluth, the community, the environment, and seeing what it brings in the future,” said Bari.
The first Saints athletic event of the season is on Friday, August 30.
