DULUTH, MN – In the four seasons that the class of 2020 seniors have played at Duluth East, they have never made it out of the first round of the playoffs.

This season, they’re out to change that.

“I think the experience that they gained because they saw so much action last year, I think that’s going to pay dividends down the road here,” said head coach Joe Hietala.

“And it’s just gonna come down to which team is the most ready to play nights and I think this team has the make-up and the character to get themselves ready.”

Last season, the Greyhounds finished 4-4 in the Northeast Red Conference, followed by a blowout loss to Andover in the first round of the playoffs.

“We’re going to be a little bit different this year, we’re going to be fast this year, we’re going to try to do up-tempo stuff and we have a very good group of skilled position players and our line is looking good too so I think we’re going to be pretty scary,” said senior QB Caden Edwards.

Duluth East will kick off against Cambridge-Isanti on Thrusday, August 29 at 6:00 p.m.
