DULUTH, MN – In memory of his late father, Will Starks’ son Dyami organized the second annual Starks Academy 4-on-4 Basketball Tournament.

Over 200 players were expected to participate in the event. All proceeds from the tournament will go towards sponsoring kids for Starks’ basketball camp at UMD on July 29th.

“Well I mean first of all, it’s in his name, it’s in his honor, it’s in his legacy, and anytime a son, and I’m his only son, so anytime a son can continue that legacy, I mean that’s big time. But not only am I looking to continue it, I’m looking to expand upon it and I think we’re well on our way, so this is a special day and I’m glad people can share it with me,” said Dyami.

“We’re also here to raise money for a couple kids and the camp that I’m going to host with the Timberwolves on July 29th, and that camp will be up at UMD. So all the money we make here today will go to sponsoring kids that can’t afford that camp.”

Both the tournament and camp are sponsored by the Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx organizations. For more information on the Starks Academy, click here.
