Virginia native Matt Niskanen traded from Capitals to Flyers

PHILADELPHIA, PA- Matt Niskanen has spent the last 5 seasons playing in the nation’s capital. But as the former Bulldog and Virginia native gears up for this upcoming season, it will be for a different team.

The Washington Capitals traded Niskanen to the Philadelphia Flyers today.

It will be the fourth team Niskanen has played for in his NHL career.

Niskanen was a part of the 2018 Stanley Cup championship team when Washington defeated Vegas in 5 games.

Just this past season, he scored 8 goals and had 17 assists in 80 games of action.
