Stariha throws no-hitter for Superior, Denfeld outlasts East, Superior baseball tops Hayward

SUPERIOR, WI – It was a strong night in the circle for Superior’s Madysen Stariha, who threw a no-hitter in a five inning rout of Eau Claire Memorial on Thursday night.

Despite losing game two 5-4, the Spartans routed the Old Abes 10-0 in game one behind 10 strikeouts and no-walks from Stariha. She added 12 more K’s in game two.

Also, Duluth Denfeld won a shootout over inter-city rival Duluth East, 15-13 in eight innings.

The Superior baseball team overcame a 2-0 defecit with four runs in the fifth inning to top Hayward at home.
