DULUTH, MN – The University of Minnesota Duluth men’s hockey team has officially returned home following their third national championship victory.

The Bulldogs flew on a charter flight into the Duluth Monoco Airport, landing around noon on Sunday. The team then boarded a bus, and received a police escort down to AMSOIL Arena.

“We had a lot of fun, we had a lot of fans there, and to see the looks on their faces and their families faces I think, afterwards on the ice you see your family and all the fans and what it means to them, it means as much to them as it does to us,” said senior captain Parker Mackay. “We have unbelievable fans, they traveled out there, I mean I had 18 people there from my hometown so it’s special.”

UMD will host their official public welcome back celebration in Romano Gymnasium at 6 p.m. on Tuesday night.
