Port Wing’s Megan Gustafson selected 17th overall in WNBA draft by Dallas Wings

New York, NY – Former Port Wing native, South Shore standout, and Iowa Hawkeye women’s basketball star Megan Gustafson was drafted 17th overall in the WNBA draft by the Dallas Wings.

In her senior season at Iowa, Gustafson lead the nation in scoring (27.9ppg), was an AP First-Team All-American, Big Ten Player of the Year, and also the ESPN W Player of the Year.

The Hawkeyes finished their NCAA tournament run in the Elite Eight with a loss to top seeded Baylor. Gustafson recorded 33 double-double in her senior season, tying and NCAA DI record.

She was also selected as the AP National Player of the Year, and Lisa Leslie Award, presented to the nations top center.
