Western Michigan steals shootout point from #4 UMD in 1-1 tie

KALAMAZOO, MI – The Western Michigan men’s hockey team won in a shootout over the University of Minnesota Duluth on Saturday night.

The game officially ended in a 1-1 tie, so each team earned a conference point. The Broncos won in the third round of the shootout to take the second point.

Noah Cates scored the lone goal for UMD, while Hunter Shepard registered 20 saves. The Bulldogs are now off for the holidays.
