David joined KBJR 6 in April, 2018. He has experience in news and sports as well as radio and TV. Prior to coming to Duluth, David spent 4 years in Central Illinois. While in the Land of Lincoln, he was a sports anchor/reporter at WICS-TV in Springfield. While there, David was nominated by the Illinois Broadcasters Association for Best Sportscaster. He would later leave the TV screen and join the radio airwaves as the Assistant News Director at WLDS-AM/WEAI-FM in Jacksonville.
A Columbus, Ohio native, David has had a passion for broadcasting since he was teenager. It all started when he broadcasted the morning and afternoon announcements at Rosemore Middle School. David would later attend The University of Akron and join WZIP-FM and ZTV. After a month with the school radio and TV stations, he became an anchor for the “ZTV Sports Report”, the school’s TV sports show. The program would later earn a NATAS Lower Great Lakes Emmy nomination for Best College/University Production.
After graduation, David took his first job at WHSV-TV as a news reporter.
David is a fan of many sports. He’s a proud Akron Zip and tries to follow all of the university’s sports when possible. He loves to cover/watch football. If he has a chance to watch the Pittsburgh Steelers, you can bet he will be wearing a some black and gold.
He’s also a fan of the Cleveland Indians, the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Columbus Blue Jackets and the Columbus Crew.
