DULUTH,MN – Grand Rapids has won the 7AAA championship for the last three years.

But Hibbing would end the Thunderhawks reign as they come away with a 55-48.

“It feels really good, we’ve had many battles with them in the 5 years I’ve been with Hibbing, since I left rapids. This is our first win, I’ve been 0 for…for five years, So this group, Abbey’s group, the seniors they haven’t beaten rapids at all. We were looking forward to this game. Tonight, we came in, played our game, played intense defense you know we’d give ourselves a chance to win.” said head coach David LaCoe.

Bluejackets will now await for its seed for the State Tournament.
