Yellowjackets punch ticket to UMAC tournament championship

DULUTH,MN – Day two of the UMAC baseball tournament started off with an upset. Top-seed St. Scholastica fell to Northwestern 6-2 in the elimination game.

UW-Superior continued it’s winner’s bracket journey with Bethany Lutheran. A tight game by the Vikings would hand the Yellowjackets a 4-2 loss.

UWS fought to stay alive as the Yellowjackets stung Northwestern with four unanswered runs. UWS came away with a 6-3 victory.

UW-Superior (18-21) will face Bethany Lutheran (22-16) in the championship round on Saturday. Game one will begin at 1 p.m. If UWS wins, game two will start at 4 p.m.
