DULUTH,MN – The NSIC tournament will tip-off Wednesday night as the UMD men’s basketball team will host Winona State.
The two teams faced off in last season’s NSIC 1st round and UMD came away with a 89-77 win.
Earlier this month, the Bulldogs and the Warriors went at it and UMD ended taking a loss. The team says they’re learning from that loss.
“A lot more detail to scout as far as them doubling the post so things like us working options as far as getting other guys shots and stepping up and being confident to hit them. Not having Brandon was kind of a presence as far as that too. Everybody is going to have to step up and fight through adversity and know that they might go on runs we just have to make sure we finish the game.” said senior forward Sean Burns.
“We know that we can play with anybody we’re playing with a ton of confidence our guys are excited about what we’re doing on a daily basis. We’ve been really stressing to them that you have to play your best game every single night this time of the year because everyone is going to be playing at that level.” said head coach Justin Wieck.
The 1st round will start at 7:30 p.m.
