History in the making, Mirage will head to its 3rd State Tournament in 4 years

Proctor/Hermantown took home its 2nd straight Section 7A Championship on Wednesday. The Mirage defeated Duluth Marshall 3-1 in Virginia.

This will be the team’s third trip to the Xcel Energy Center in four years. Head coach Glen Gilderman says, this is history in the making for the program.

“I don’t think we have ever had anybody that has been down there, this is their 3rd trip down, and that’s a big deal. The 2nd trip down is a big deal because you aren’t as intimated by Xcel Energy Center and all that kind of stuff. The 3rd trip down, now you are kind of a veteran. You know the little intricacies and how to handle games and the media and all that kind of stuff down there.” said Gilderman.

Proctor/Hermantown will play in the first round of the State Tournament on February 20th.
