UMD won’t take St. Cloud State lightly

DULUTH,MN – The UMD women’s hockey team is sitting at the .500 mark (12-12-2). They will host St. Cloud State this weekend at Amsoil Arena.  The Bulldogs are 8-2-2 at home.

UMD leads the overall series against SCSU. Head coach Maura Crowell says even though the huskies have only won 9 games all season, they have a really talented team.

“They have really good goal-tending, both Janine Alder and Emma Polusney are off the charts in terms of goal-tending stats. They are both very good, different, and usually they play a Friday and Saturday so, I’m sure we will see both of them and i think they have some kids who can put the puck in the net. So their goalies enable them to keep games tight and they have some dynamic forwards that can put the puck in the net so, it makes it a well rounded team, even though their record may not show it.” Crowell said.

UMD will host St. Cloud State on Friday at 7:07 p.m.
