DULUTH,MN – With UMD Head Men’s Hockey Coach Scott Sandelin, Mikey Anderson, Noah Cates and Dylan Samberg all away and representing Team USA, Associate Head Coach Jason Herter will step in and lead the bench. The team says things are a little different during practice but overall its business as usual with Herter at the helm.

“He’s good, he cares a lot about the game, he’s very passionate. He’s very detailed in his coaching style, he shows that a lot. It’s good to see, it will be interesting to see how we respond and I’m looking forward to offer us this weekend.” said senior forward Parker Mackay.

“Hertz (Jason Herter) and Krausey (Adam Krause), they’re awesome coaches and I think that they are just as capable and, not much has changed I think. I think we kinda have the same focus, obviously, we have to go out there and play hockey no matter who is behind the bench. We know they got our back and we gotta do the same for them.” said sophomore forward Nick Swaney.

#4 UMD will face #3 Minnesota State-Mankato in the 1st round of the Desert Classic. Puck drops on Friday at 5:30 p.m.
