CROMWELL,MN – With a record of 11-0, Cromwell-Wright is the lone undefeated team in our viewing area. After claiming their 3rd straight section title last week, the Cardinals are back in the state tournament. This will be the team’s 5th trip to the tournament since 2010.

Cromwell-Wright also earned its last state title in 2010. The team says playing this late in the postseason isn’t new and they’re ready for Friday.

“I was a little nervous after our quarterback went down but after seeing how we performed without him and how confident we could be, it made me feel pretty good and also made me pretty confident about my team.” said senior running back Kannon Korpela.

“It is old hat for these seniors, we do have some younger kids, a couple freshmen who are playing big roles, that this is their first time, but I feel like with our experience of being there before is definitely to our advantage.” said head coach Jeff Gronner.

Cromwell-Wright will face NCE/U-H on Friday at 7 p.m. in the 9-Man State Quarterfinal. The game will take place at Bemidji State University.
