Red Flag warning issued for Park Point beach

DULUTH, MN– The Duluth Fire Department issued a Red Flag warning on Tuesday for Park Point Beach.

Conditions could produce strong rip currents, according to the fire department.

The warning is in effect from 8:30 a.m. Tuesday to 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Fire officials say rip currents are life-threatening to anyone entering the water. People are asked to stay out of the water regardless of their swimming experience.

There are currently no lifeguards at Park Point, and red flags are flying along the beach to indicate the dangerous swimming condition.
