St. Louis Co.: Nearly $700,000 made in tax forfeited property auction

HERMANTOWN, MN — St. Louis County officials say nine tax forfeited homes and more than 20 other properties are now in private ownership after Thursday’s tax forfeited property auction.

Officials say, now that the properties are purchased, a total of $690,145 is back on the property tax base.

Any of the more than 250 items not purchased at the auction are now available for sale on a first come, first served basis through the St. Louis County Land and Minerals Department.

Another tax forfeited land auction is scheduled for October 10th in Virginia.

According to St. Louis County, there are nearly 900,000 acres of tax forfeited land available throughout the county.
