Two teens charged for stealing guns from Ace Hardware in Hayward

HAYWARD, WI — Two northwest Wisconsin teens have been charged with stealing guns from an Ace Hardware in Hayward back in January.

According to the Sawyer County Record, 18-year-old Lorenzo Schuman, of the Town of Hayward, and 18-year-old Gabriel Lynk, of Sand Lake, are charged with several felonies, including one count burglary-arming self with dangerous weapon theft-movable property, criminal damage to property, and one count possession of burglary tools.

A 16-year-old has also been taken into custody in connection with the January 16th robbery.

According to court documents, each suspect blamed the other two for braking the glass on the store’s front door, and on the gun case.

Authorities say it was Shuman’s father that took his son and the 16-year-old to the police the day of the robbery, after finding one of the stolen handguns in the back seat of his pickup truck.

At the time of the arrest, four of the six stolen handguns had been located.
