Travel not advised on multiple highways leading out of Duluth

DULUTH, MN — The Minnesota 511 website says travel is not advised on many highways leading in and out of Duluth.

Travel is not advised on the following stretches: Highway 53 from Duluth to Cotton, as well as Interstate 35 from the East End of Duluth to just south of Scanlon, the Oliver Bridge, Highway 23 to the area just past the US Forest Service and Riverside Park, and Highway 2 from Duluth to the intersection of Highway 33 near Saginaw and Grand Lake area.

Multiple crashes and incidents have been reported in those areas.

Roads are completely covered in other parts of the Arrowhead region.

In Wisconsin, all highways are snow covered, with slippery stretches reported on Highway 2 east of Odanah to Ironwood.
