DULUTH, MN – The University of Minnesota Duluth has several big requests heading into the 2019 legislative session.
Students, staff and administration shared their hopes with Duluth lawmakers Thursday morning during a breakfast at Glensheen Mansion.
UMD is working with the full university to put forward both budget and bonding requests.
One of the major projects on the table is renovating A.B. Anderson Hall. Officials say it’s in dire need of upgrades.

Lynne Williams, UMD Director of Marketing and Public Relations, says the university has had to cancel classes because the building gets too hot, something UMD alumni can attest to.
“The best people who can advocate for the university are our students and alumni who can talk about the impact the university has had on their lives and why it’s important for the state of Minnesota and our legislators to support that,” said Williams.
The 2019 Minnesota legislative session gets underway January 8th.
