DULUTH, MN– The man accused of sexually abusing teens at a youth care facility in Duluth has changed his plea to guilty to several counts against him.

According to court records, Mark Painter, 29, pleaded guilty to five 1st and 3rd degree criminal charges in St. Louis County Court Monday as part of a plea agreement. Three other charges against him were dismissed.

He originally pleaded not guilty to the charges in March. His case was set to go to a jury trial November 12.

The incidents apparently happened while Painter worked as a counselor at The Hills Youth and Family Services in Duluth.

Painter is expected to be sentenced in January 2020.
