DULUTH, MN — A Duluth business is under investigation after authorities say several people have reported paying thousands of dollars for window and other residential remodel work that wasn’t completed.

Authorities say Hicks Window and Door, located on Martin Road, was paid thousands of dollars by customers; however, the work they paid for allegedly hasn’t been completed, and customers haven’t received refunds.

At this time, the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office says the owner of Hicks Window and Door, Jason Hicks, is cooperating with the investigation.

The Sheriff’s Office says the total amount paid by customers for unfinished goods or services appears to be more than $100,000. Authorities also believe there are people who have yet to contact law enforcement to report their loss.

According to the BBB, Hicks Window and Door has been issued a C+ rating due to the business not being very responsive to the BBB’s investigation into a complaint.

If you feel you have been intentionally deceived, authorities say to contact Investigator Andrew Graves if you live within the City of Duluth, and Investigator Alyssa Schlichting if you live outside the city.

Graves can be reached at 218-730-5729, and Schlichting can be reached at 218-336-4352.
