Aquarium workers prep for potential flooding

DULUTH, MN – Workers at the Great Lakes Aquarium workers spent the day Monday sandbagging in preparation for any flooding in and around the building.

Flooding closed off Harbor Drive next to the Great Lakes Aquarium in Canal Park.

Aquarium Executive Director Jay Walker said they’ve had plenty of practice over the last few years.

“We just go with the punches,” Walker said. “It’s one of the things about living down here by the water, you have to be prepared for it and so over the years of experiences. I think we’ve got it dialed in pretty good.”

There was no immediate word on any property damage due to the flooding.
