Pedestrian struck, killed near Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS, MN– A Grand Rapids woman is dead after authorities say she was hit by a car on Highway 169 Saturday night.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Wanda Jean Meinhardt, 63, was in the roadway when she was hit by a Chevy Impala heading south on Hwy 169 near Laplant Road around 10:10 p.m.

Authorities say a 22-year-old Crosby, Minnesota man was driving the Chevy.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, alcohol was not a factor.

The crash is under investigation.
