Local colleges host Duluth City Council candidate forum

DULUTH– Student-led organizations at UMD and College of St. Scholastica hosted a candidate forum Sunday night.

The forum was with 4 open seat candidates for the Duluth City Council.

The candidates included Noah Hobbs, Mike Mayou, Derek Medved, and Arik Forsman.

Candidates answered questions based on several different topics, including sexual harassment, the opioid epidemic, the job market, and minimum wage increases.

Another topic with a heavy focus was environmental issues, like climate change, and how the city should address it.

Minnesota Public Research Group, UMD Student Government Association, College of St. Scholastica Student Senate, and UMD Political Science Association were hosts of the forum.
