2 injured in separate ATV crashes near Orr

ORR, MN– St. Louis County authorities say two people were hospitalized after separate weekend ATV crashes near Orr.

In the first incident, authorities say Ashley Brubaker, 34, of Grand Rapids, was riding with a group of seven people in the area of Keyes Road west of Highway 53, which is about 15 miles northwest of Orr, around 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

According to the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office, she was thrown from the ATV while trying to swerve around an object.

Brubaker was taken to a Duluth hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

In the second incident, authorities say Kelly Klander, 44, of Eveleth, was riding on County Road 180 in Camp Five Township, which is about 10 miles north east of Orr, around 6:05 p.m. Saturday.

Authorities say he was ejected from his ATV after losing control near the edge of the road.

Klander was airlifted to a Duluth hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
