UMD to host ‘Take Back the Night’ event Wednesday

DULUTH, MN– UMD is set to host its annual ‘Take Back the Night’ event Wednesday.

The event is centered to help provide resources and space for healing to those who have been impacted by sexual assault, along with empowering those who have been victimized and helping spread the word to take a stand against it.

‘Take Back the Night’ festivities will begin at 6 p.m. at Kirby Ballroom on the UMD campus, and is free and open to the public.

There will be a pre-rally gathering and resource fair beginning at 6 p.m., with a rally beginning at 6:30, followed by a march around campus and the neighboring community at 7:00, ending with a speak out event at 7:30 p.m.

The speak out event will allow those who have been victimized to share their experiences.

We’ll hear more from the event coming up tonight on the KBJR 6 news at 10 p.m.
