Bayfield officials say 2019 Applefest was a success

BAYFIELD, WI — Bayfield hosted its biggest event of the year this past weekend, and despite some wet weather, it was a success.

According to the Chamber and Visitor Bureau, between 35,000 – 40,000 people attended Applefest this year.

The event kicked off Friday and ran through Sunday.

Applefest celebrates the fall and Bayfield’s agricultural history, which includes growing apples.

The next big event for the community is the Apostle Islands sled dog race in February.
