FLOODWOOD, MN — A few seniors with the Floodwood School District have helped make one student’s dream come true.

Ariane Castellanos says her younger sister, Aleigha, was crowned Homecoming Queen Tuesday during the coronation at Floodwood High School.

Ariane says her sister, who has autism spectrum disorder, also known as ASD, had been dreaming of being Homecoming Queen, which makes the moment so special.

In a Facebook post, Ariane says a few senior girls planted the seed to help make it happen.

She went on to say the idea was the greatest act of kindness, and will likely be one of the big highlights of Aleigha’s life.

In addition, Ariane says the moment also makes a huge impact on the entire ASD community.

The big dance will be held on Saturday.
