UPDATE: Missing Cloquet children found safe

UPDATE — Cloquet police say three children who were declared missing early in the day Wednesday have been found safe.

According to police, Sadie Slides Off, 17, Leiyanna Jones, 3, and Malayaah’rae Slides Off, 18 months, were all found late Wednesday afternoon in a home on the Fond du Lac Reservation in the City of Cloquet.

At this time, Cloquet police are working with the Carlton County Attorney’s Office and Carlton County Human Services on the investigation.

The children had last been seen at the Carlton County Youth Shelter on Tuesday.

Police would like to thank the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children for their help with the case.





1:14 p.m. – Police are asking community members to help with a search for three girls.

According to police, Leiyanna Jones, 3, and Malayaah’rae Slides Off, 18 months, were both last seen near the Carlton County Youth Shelter on September 10.

Police say both children were with Sadie Slides Off, 17, who is the mother of Malayaa’rae, and is the sister of Leiyanna.

Sadie is also listed as missing after running away.

All three girls are Native American.
