2 injured after utility truck overturns in Bayfield Co.

TOWNSHIP OF BARNES, WI — Authorities say two people received minor injuries after a utility truck overturned in the Township of Barnes Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Bayfield County Sheriff’s Office, authorities were called to Outlet Bay Road near Deer Grove Road shortly before 3 p.m. Tuesday.

When they arrived, they say they found a truck owned by Harvey Tree Service was traveling north on Outlet Bay Road with the boom extended in the air by mistake.

Authorities say the boom struck a power line, which caused the vehicle to overturn on a bridge.

According to authorities, both the driver and his passenger were able to get out of the vehicle, and refused to be taken by an ambulance to a hospital.

At this time, the incident is still under investigation.
