DULUTH, MN– A local center is raising awareness to prevent child abuse.

First Witness Child Advocacy Center in Duluth partners with the community in efforts to make it a safe place for children to grow and thrive.

In September, as kids go back to school the center narrows its focus to prevention and awareness of child abuse by recognizing “We All Stand With Kids” month.

Executive Director of the center, Tracie Clanaugh says, “not a lot of people really want to talk about child abuse and raise awareness of the importance, but we as a community want to stand up and want children to believe that children can be safe and need to be safe.”

Tuesday, several local leaders spoke about the importance of this campaign including Duluth Mayor Emily Larson.
