3 candidates recommended to fill Minnesota’s Sixth Judicial District

ST. PAUL, MN — Members of the Commission on Judicial Selection announced the three candidates they are recommending to Governor Walz to fill the vacancy on Minnesota’s Sixth Judicial District.

The District, which covers Carlton, Cook, Lake and St. Louis Counties, has a vacancy due to the retirement of Judge Gary Pagliaccetti.

Commission members have selected the following candidates:

Bhupesh Pattni — Pattni is currently an attorney for Trenti Law Firm, and is also an assistant public defender in the Sixth Judicial District.

Andrew Peterson – Peterson is currently an attorney and a shareholder of Cope & Peterson Ltd, and was previously a law clerk at SiebenCarey.

Bruce Williams – Williams is a solo practitioner in Virginia, Minnesota, serves on the Federal Public Defender Conflicts Panel, and is also a part-time attorney in the Sixth District Public Defender’s Office.

Whoever is selected will be chambered in Virginia, Minnesota.
