Passing lane project on Highway 53 starts Tuesday

COOK, MN — Crews will begin making four new passing lanes Tuesday on Highway 53 between Cook and Ericsburg.

MnDOT says Highway 53 will be reduced to one lane during the day, and the lane will be controlled by flaggers.

During non-working hours, two way traffic will be restored.

Anyone traveling in the area should expect delays.

Officials say all roadways next to Highway 53 will be accessible, however 11 foot width restrictions will be in place.

According to MnDOT, the project is scheduled to be complete sometime in mid-October.
