90th Anniversary for Duluth’s Aerial Lift Bridge

DULUTH, MN- Saturday marks the 90th anniversary of the Aerial Lift Bridge.

The Aerial Lift Bridge was modified to the bridge we see today in 1929.

It’s lifted hundreds of times each year to allow vessels of all types to come and go into the Duluth or Superior Harbors.

And a fun fact: The Superior Entry is the original entry and is still used today by vessels entering or leaving the Superior ore docks.
