Deputy and pickup driver injured in early morning crash

PINE CITY, MN – A Pine County deputy was hurt when a car rear-ended his squad.

It happened at 12:41 a.m. Tuesday morning in Pine City.

Authorities say the driver of a pickup truck hit the squad car, and pushed it off the road.

When authorities arrived, the pickup driver didn’t cooperate and had to be restrained.

He was eventually taken to the hospital.

The deputy was also taken to the hospital, but has since been released.

Authorities are investigating.
