Taking to the skies in Northern Lightning training

JUNEAU COUNTY, WI – Nearly 1,000 active duty members are bound for Juneau County, Wis., as a part of the Northern Lightning training exercise.

They’re coming from 20 different Air Force, National Guard, Navy and Marine Corps units for the training running from Monday through August 23rd.

It’ll take place at the Volk Field Combat Readiness Training Center.

The Wisconsin National Guard says Northern Lightning is a tactical level, joint training exercise replicating today’s air battle space with current and future weapons platform.
