Park Point beach hosts water safety expo

DULUTH, MN– Hundreds came out to Park Point beach Thursday to have fun in the sun at the annual water safety expo.

Community members received lessons on how to enjoy Lake Superior in a safe way.

Experts said the lake can be very unpredictable at times, so an event like this is a way for officials to connect with the community about safety in a fun way.

“Our goal continues to be as much public outreach in water safety as we can make possible. And that is part of today, but that is part of every day here at the beach house,” said Jessica Peterson with Duluth Parks and Recreation.

Kids also got a chance to compete in a sand modeling contest.
