SUPERIOR– Construction on Superior’s first-ever community garden is well underway.

Thursday morning volunteers were hard at work adding rocks around the area and installing fencing around the perimeter.

When finished, community members will have a chance to rent out lots to garden, they also hope to add a makeshift area where growers can place unwanted vegetables for other community members to take.

Many area organizations and businesses made the garden possible with donations and hours of work.

“Hopefully this is just the first of many gardens that we are going to be building throughout the community of Superior,” said Treasurer of Superior Community Garden Association, Ruth Ludwig.

Ludwig also says they are still in need of more donations to cover the project.

If you’re interested in donating to the garden contact Ruth Ludwig, 715-394-4877.
