DULUTH, MN — Police say two men have been charged for allegedly selling marijuana in a park zone in Duluth’s Lincoln Park neighborhood.
According to Duluth Police, officers were called to an area known as “The Wall,” located at 3400 West Skyline Parkway on Tuesday.
While there, officers say Stanley Cornett, Jr., of Superior, was searched after officers were given a warrant.
The warrant stemmed from an investigation by the community policing unit after they received information that he was allegedly selling marijuana to juveniles and adults at “The Wall.”
Police say when he was detained, he was allegedly conducting a drug sale.
Authorities arrested Zandel Morgan, also of Superior, at the same time.
Officers apparently found 54 grams of marijuana, a scale, drug packaging, and more than $300 in cash after searching Cornett and his vehicle. They then searched Morgan’s vehicle, where police say they found 18 grams of marijuana wax and drug paraphernalia.
While searching Cornett’s home, which is located on the 1500 block of John Avenue in Superior, police say they found about five pounds of marijuana, as well as $3,200 in cash and a loaded handgun.
Both men have been formally charged, with bail set for both at $5,000 with no conditions, or no bail with conditions.
Cornett will be extradited to Wisconsin and is expected to be charged with possession with intent to deliver marijuana, as well as possession of a firearm by a felon out of state conviction.
Police say Cornett was previously convicted in Illinois for felony charges of manufacturing and delivering controlled substances.
