New president announced at College of St. Scholastica

DULUTH, MN — We now know who will be leading the College of St. Scholastica.

Thursday morning, school leaders announced Dr. Barbara McDonald as the 13th president.

McDonald’s role will become effective starting August 5.

She previously worked at North Hennepin Community College in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, where she had served as president since 2014.

McDonald will replace President Colette Geary, who announced she would be leaving Scholastica in order to spend more time with her family.

Geary had served as president since July 2016.
