2 drivers report seeing missing Duluth man, extensive search continues

CANOSIA TOWNSHIP, MN — Authorities are continuing their search for a missing vulnerable adult after two motorists reported seeing Julian Decoux on the same day he went missing.

According to the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office, the drivers apparently saw Decoux walking on the shoulder of Lavaque Road in Hermantown on May 5.

Since then, aircraft from both the Minnesota State Patrol and the Department of Homeland Security Customs and Border Protection have helped search for him.

Authorities say there’s no specific information to indicate Decoux would travel into the woods; however, they’ve searched the Lavaque Road area by air in case he went into the woods or a swamp.

Decoux has left the adult foster care home before, but he has never been gone for this amount of time.

He was last seen wearing a bright green winter hat, an orange hooded sweatshirt, a black vest, black pants, and grey tennis shoes.

If you have any information on where Decoux may be, you’re asked to call 911, or contact the Sheriff’s Office Investigative Division at 218-336-4350.
