Area skaters get a lesson from the pros

Thursday night ice skaters of all ages got a chance to learn from some of the worlds best right here in Duluth.

Dozens of young and lucky skaters of the Duluth Figure Skating Club got the opportunity of a lifetime on Thursday evening to learn from performers of Cirque Du Soleil.

They learned new routines, and moves in figure skating that are more about performance, rather than competition.

“When you perform you perform different skills that are also seen by a lot of people and there’s a lot of similarities in what the two worlds are, but it’s always nice to share and inspire younger people to do what others do.” says Touring Publicist Julie Desmarais

Cirque de Soleil’s Crystal will perform at AMSOIL arena throughout this weekend.
