Superior couple charged for possession of meth

SUPERIOR, WI — A Superior couple has been charged after $22,000 dollars worth of meth was found in their home.

According to the criminal complaint, on April 2nd, police searched Aunorae Vandell and Brian Kainu’s home on North 18th Street in Superior.

Between the house, a backpack, and Kainu’s sweatshirt pocket, authorities found about 443 grams of meth.

They also found a scale and unused packaging. The couple’s 9-year-old child was taken into protective custody.

Kainu and Vandell both waved a preliminary hearing on Wednesday.

They are expected in court again in late May and early June.
